A Dutch auditing firm had embarked on a full migration from Exact to Microsoft Dynamics and Business Central. The project had stalled significantly — deadlines missed, the external implementation partner underdelivering, and internal stakeholders losing confidence.

What we did

Mafera M&C stepped in as interim project manager. We identified root causes of the delay, reassigned responsibilities, and put the external party back on a contractual footing. Daily management of progress, risk, and stakeholder communication was taken over entirely.

The project was delivered live within the original target timeline. Internal teams were equipped to manage the new environment independently.

Situation

Following the successful ERP implementation, the same firm recognised they needed sustained senior IT leadership. They had no internal CTO function and a growing dependency on external developers.

What we did

Engaged as Ad-interim CTO alongside CEO and COO. Built and managed a development team using Scrum, took responsibility for HR, Marketing, Sales and GRC, obtained ISO 17065 and 17020, implemented full IT policy, and rolled out a hardware programme company-wide.

Outcome

Business targets achieved. IT operations professionalised. ISO certifications obtained. Full handover to internal teams completed.

Conducted structured interviews with all stakeholders. Designed and implemented a custom Scrum programme. Delivered on-the-job training and coached team members daily.

What we did

Joined the Management Team as Ad-interim CTO. Implemented Scrum, managed daily engineering operations, took an active role in customer onboarding, and planned and managed the full ISO 27001 certification process.
